Alert

Alerts notify users of actions required by the system. They provide a quick and easy way of notifying users when information changes or actions are required. Users must actively select “Alerts” to view.

Appeal ID

A unique identifier for an appeal.

Certificate ID

A unique identifier for a clearance certificate.

ChildLine Administrative Review Panel Appeal

An appeal type that is reviewed by an Administrative Review Panel at ChildLine.

ChildLine ID

Unique ID from the legacy ChildLine (MILLIE) system.

Clearance ID

A unique identifier for a clearance application.

Community Alert

An alert that is issued to all users.

Correspondence ID

A unique identifier for a correspondence.

County of Abuse

The county where abuse occurred.

A code provided by an organization for payment of a clearance application.

Person ID

A unique identifier for a person in CWIS.

Policy Review Panel Appeal

An appeal type that is reviewed by a Policy Panel at ChildLine.

Potential Hit / Hit

Potential match between person searched and CWIS record of alleged perpetrator/responsible person.

QAASU

Quality Assurance Administrative Support Unit

Record ID

A unique identifier for a record in CWIS.

Referral ID

A unique identifier for a referral in CWIS.

Referral Status

The current status of a referral.

Referral Type

The type of referral in CWIS.

Role

The status of a person’s current involvement with an alleged victim / subject child.

Secretary Review Appeal

An appeal type that is reviewed by the Secretary of the Department of Public Welfare.

Soundex

An alphanumeric value based upon the way a word sounds. The value is used to identify possible matches in the CWIS system.

SSN

Social Security Number

Volunteer

Any person that works with children who does not receive pay.

Workflow Step

Stage in the overall lifecycle of a particular work item (Create, Evaluate, Investigation, etc.).

Workload Dashboard

Display of active work items for a particular user role.

 

 

PC Related Terms

 

Add

Button used to create a new entry on a page where data is entered. For example, click Add to enter a new Staff member at a Location.

Asterisk

 

This symbol in red indicates when a field is a required field. Ex: *

Cancel

Button used to abandon changes on a page to either re-enter information, or retain existing information.

Checkbox

Allows selection of one or more choices from a list of options. Left-click a checkbox to select an option. Selection is indicated by a checkmark in the checkbox.

Delete

A button used by specified users to delete records.

Drop-down list

A field that allows users to select a pre-defined value from a list of options.

Edit

Button used to modify existing information on a page.

Field

Object on page where data is typed or selected. For example, Type the Date of Birth in the Date of Birth field.

Link

An object, such as underlined text, that connects you to another part of a web page or opens another web page altogether.

Radio Button

Button used to select one option from a group of choices.

Save

Button used to save changes to a page and remain on that page.

Save and Add Another

Button used to save changes and add additional information.

Save and Close

Button used to save changes to a page and close that page.

Search

Button used to execute a search after search criteria is entered.
